Back in October, my Sister dropped a bombshell on my entire family by saying she was pregnant. This past friday the 4th, she went into labor and at about 5pm that day, my nephew was born. Wyatt Scott LaPlante is healthy and came out at 8.3lbs. My sister had to have a blood transfusion after the birth due to not regaining the blood she lost, but outside of that, she and the baby are home and doing great.
So I've been playing with Pandora Radio thanks to Greg Dean and discovered that it can be played via my blackberry. I am now on a mission:
I have a car with an integrated navigation system. It has a CD, an auxiliary jack for mp3 players, and the possibility for XM radio. Before I start investing money into this, does anyone know the best method to set up a bluetooth receiver into a stereo like this (without actually installing it into the dash, fk that) and does anyone know which bluetooth receivers are good on the market right now? I totally want to stream Pandora through my car. :D
Last Sunday/Monday, we had a couple inches of snow. It mostly iced, but there was snow. A day later, it was good enough to drive without any help. I got down to Canby with my civic and went to Schwab before work. I had them install studded tires so I could get into work with the ice on the road without too much problem.
Well, apparently the weather didn't like that idea, for it started snowing on Sunday and hasn't stopped. I snapped this picture yesterday morning to show my co-workers why I couldn't get into work:
The snow is NOMing my car. D:
And we're supposed to get 3-5 more inches of snow tonight. This snow needs to go away. I went for a walk yesterday because I was going stir crazy from being cooped up all weekend. To top it off, I haven't finished my shopping, and now that I'm stuck in Canby, I can't get the packages that are supposed to be delivered to my house.
So the job I had been waiting for opened up at work. I applied, and so did a couple other people. Someone else got the job. I'm kinda upset about it, since it had been the thing I'd been after for quite awhile now. However, I let it go, its just a job. I'm sure other opportunities will arise, even if it isn't at my current place of employment.
On the other hand, the person going over to IT had full time hours that I will be taking over. My new work schedule as of October 16th will be 12pm to 9pm Monday through Friday. I get my weekends back! Yay! Also get PTO/HTO, benefits, holiday pay, and a 12 hour a week boost, woo!
Speaking of the 16th, I will be heading to California Oct 16th through the 19th. My paternal grandmother is turning 80 and doesn't have many years left in her, so we want to go visit her while we have a chance. Should be fun, except that my dad's side of the family is odd.
Also, watch out Portland, Chris is licensed now. Yeah yeah, about time, but I never really had a need for a license before. The IT job that opened here at work was inspiration to get it done. Since I was already on my way to it when the IT job slipped out of my hands, I just finished it up and got it. Next step, gotta get me a vehicle.
